Yes, it's cold, but it's a dry fucking cold.

Beside, LTHM, we Lawn Guylanders consider where you live to be the Midwest
We in Western NY divide the state in many more districts that just Up/Down...
*We have WNY which is approx Syracuse & west (Rochester/Buffalo)
*We have CNY (central)which is pretty much the center of the state (Syracuse - Albany)
*Then there is Upstate - Adirondack area etc.
*Finally downstate - any & all areas of NYC/LI, east of Albany, and areas on the eastern side of the state that do not fall neatly into any of the other categories.
Love isn't what you say, it's what you do.

Snow sighting last Thursday! One September we(Canadians) went to North Carolina. All the locals were complaining about how cold it was. We were swimming in the ocean

For those who don't bleed black and gold, Bergeron is the ironman and toughest SOB in hockey, Bruins center Patrice Bergeron. He played game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals with a broken rib, torn rib cartilage and a pierced lung.
The boys of Wintah ahh back.

Glad to hear that SOME of you know what REAL snow is! I lived over 5 years in Syracuse, NY. The SNOWIEST METROPOLITAN AREA in the continental US. People always think Buffalo gets more snow.
Plus, I think the five years I lived there had three of the top snowiest winters EVER (at that time). Too fucking much for this California gal.
One January I heard on the tv news that we were heading into our 32nd day with "no measurable sunshine". We were gone by the end of the year.
I know a lot of you Canucks have seen much worse. I'm just sayin'. An hour out of NYC is NOT "upstate"!

The opposite can be true too. My nephew visited Phoenix in mid-winter where it felt VERY warm compared to upstate NY when he left. It felt so warm that he put on swim trunks and got in the hot tub of his friend's apartment complex one evening. Several residents in jackets walked past, saw him there and one said, "Dude, you ain't from around here are you?"
And on one late January visit to Vegas, it felt wonderfully warm to us, so the first thing we did was shed our coats and toss them in the trunk of the rental car with the luggage. The attendant who brought us to the car and the one who checked the paperwork before letting us out of the lot were wearing parkas, toques and gloves!
Finding what life could have been....... Why didn't I see it?
