Ugh! What a major toolbag. Emails that demand a response by a certain time or date really piss me off. I would ignore it unless you legally have to respond to something like that.

Ugh!

Me: BS 37
Him: WS 37
20 month old DS
Married 5 years, together 8, DIVORCING!!! (taking forever)
DDay: 3/1/13 (4 Month PA while I was pregnant)
Sometimes all you have to do is forget what you feel and remember what you deserve.

I don't think any of these rules are out of line, but on the same note I don't think it is Helen's responsibility to convey the rules to her kids. Dad's rules, dad explains them. At least for the simple fact that if any clarification is needed Helen is not left guessing what is meant. I think Take2's response is simple and to the point:

Communicate your rules to the kids directly.

There is no need for a middle man in this situation.

Interestingly enough, those are pretty much the same expectations I would have of my teens. I'd try to verbalize them a little more politely, but hey, I'm not a dickhead!

Oh, and I vote for the second response in pass's comment!

Tune out the noise of what others tell you about who you are and work it out for yourself...
