Yep. I got the red shoes. That was my start. I always get compliments on them. I started wearing a bit more makeup (nothing crazy... but I used to be one of those gals who did lipstick, and that was about it). I chopped all of my hair off because it makes me feel more attractive; I am not one of those people who wants to spend a lot of time on her long hair, so it always ended up in a ponytail or in an unkempt mess. I loved saying goodbye to it.
I also add pieces to my wardrobe that are work-appropriate but also more stylish. I don't do anything super expensive, just a cute skirt or top here and there. After years of hardly buying myself anything (or only really boring things that you'd wear to do chores around the house), it's been nice to wear clothing that makes me feel more feminine.
Oh-- I also wear perfume more often and have found my signature scent. I'm not ready to date, but I like taking care of myself for me and not for someone else. Did I also mention-- get a massage!
FBS; now happily liberated!
