I struggle with trust also. I'm very honest with my FWH about my lack of trust. And I have no idea how he could prove himself. I had to stop the verifying process though because I would have anxiety attacks just at the thought of looking at his phone.
Maybe I'm not being fair to my FWH, as he's a recovering SA and has a long way to go as far as maturity and logic go, but I shouldn't have to verify. He should go out of his way to be as transparent as he can possibly be. For such an intelligent man, he can be so incredible dense.
= the look on his face when we talk about transparency, followed by "I thought I was doing a really great job."
