TIL (today I learned): there's a thing known as triangle glass snack plates with demitasse cups and that the menz on SI seem to know about this phenomena while the women are clueless

My personal favorite use for snack plates and demitasse cups - a pastry and espresso for breakfast. The demi cups are the perfect size and I like that you can put your espresso and breakfast on the plate and carry it all in one hand.

Those are cute! I've been to a tea where the hostess used little porcelain plates and demitasse cups like that. It was so that we didn't have to balance a plate as well as a cup and saucer while we tried to eat. Genius!

I have some clear ones and some different shaped pink ones. They are all hand me downs I have never used. My family is very into carnival glass. I have loads do different china and glassware I have no idea what to do with.

ETA: try etsy. I have found a lot of good stuff there.

Aubrie, in our local Goodwill stores they always have Fenton glass trays and cups. Pretty cheap, too. Try those if you have any in your area. Salvation Army stores, too. Cheaper than antique stores. I might be going to Goodwill today, I will see if they have any to match your set.

eta: How many plates in your set?

At the Salvation Army store, today is customer appreciation day 50% off. I'll look here.

I have a bunch of plates (oval) like that (I think 24) the round part holds the punch bowl cup that matches the set. They work nice for parties. I inherited them from a woman in my sorority when she passed away. I don't think she appreciated my plastic partyware.

SMS, I have 8 in my set.

Don't know why I didn't think of Goodwill! It's not like I don't spend enough to cover their electric bill every month already anyway.

The Goodwill on my side of town isn't so swell when it comes to housewares, but maybe the new one on the other side is. Hmmm... Maybe when this Arctic Blast goes back to the Arctic where it belongs and I can get out of the house, I'll see what I can find.

Thanks for the tip ladies!

Oh, and I was surfing last night and saw the set below. I think they're so cute!

I'm starting to think I grew up in the wrong time era. I love old stuff.

Aubrie, I have that exact set of clear plates. I ordered more cups and plates last night because BH saw your post and said, "we need more of those for when you have ladies over."

When exactly does that happen?...

Went on a treasure hunt at Goodwill, Aubrie. Guess what I found? Lots of cups to go with your set. I had a lot of fun. Good price, too.

Coincidentally, I bought 10 of those plain cups with the design on handle just like the ones you posted in the picture you found when surfing. I bought them before I saw that picture.

I also found 10 cups that would go with your set, too. They are more "traditionally" shaped and are cut glass that would match your plates. On the bottom of the cup, there is a flower that looks kind of like the one on your plates. I wish I knew how to post images so I could show you.

Anyway, I want to send you a set of these cups. Which ones do you think you would want?
