Ahhh.... It's time for Valentine's Day card shopping again.

Stood at the card display for 30 minutes today. Thought I would try and make a selection before they got picked over. I'm very selective about this, you know.

Some of the cards are so close to useable, yet there is always at least one line that I cannot commit to in a card to my FWH.

If I ever "overlook" a line for the sake of convenience and in the name of forgiveness, FWH takes it and runs with it.

Again, this year it will be a simple sentiment with a cute picture and humor.

Been doing this for 7 years.

me too.

I usually opt for cards with a funny picture and nothing written inside. That way I can write something bland and mostly meaningless that will give me a pass through the day.

This made me chuckle. But, I can relate.

The card-writers really seem to exist in fantasyland - worse, they try to drag us down into their effed up fantasies with them.

Blank card all the way....

Cards are bullshit.

I got my husband a birthday card, got up to the register and it was seven bucks...wtf? Seven bucks for a folded piece of paper with words from some stranger on them.

I told him it was the last card we were going to buy. If he needs to share some kind of sentiment with me on a "special" day he can grab himself a crayola and a piece of paper.

Screw Halmark and their effort to make the population feel as though every relationship they have can never measure up to perfect.

Boycott all cards...screw it.

I don't do valentines anymore. He was looking for hotels for their romp and when I found the search he said it was for us. Yes cheap hotels near our house.

What the hell did he think I was such a fucking idiot. Plus he made a card and sent it to both of us. Motherfucker.

This will be my first time buying a v-day card for my husband post infidelity, so I don't know what it feels like yet.

But I feel your pain on cards having so much sentiment...My mom is an unpleasant pain in my ass who loves cards, and it's SOOO hard to buy her birthday/mother's day/whatever day cards because they are always so lovey and talk about what a wonderful mom she is blah blah blah...so I always go with a stupid funny one with Garfield or something.
