We are 17 months out. Things have been going real well. I brought up the discussion on trust and how I wanted to truly take some symbolic steps forward. She has been transparent and very amiable on the issue. So three days ago I disabled the GPS on her phone. (I had installed Life360 last year. I highly recommend the app BTW).
I thought it would be difficult for me, but I've been pleasantly surprised thus far. I'm not naive and this is by no way blind and total trust. But it's a step forward.
Just wanted to share.

Always wonderful to hear of positive steps in the healing. Congrats on the progress, and I hope it continues to go well for you two.
When you put someone on a pedestal, they quickly learn two things. The view is mighty good from up there, and it is a fine vantage from which to kick.

That's great! As a side note, we keep the Life360 on both of our phones because we found that it was brilliantly convenient to make dinner plans, etc., by seeing where we were on the road. So if a monitoring device works out IRL as a timesaver ....
Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.
