Here's how I read it:

1 cup chopped nuts = chopped before measuring

1 cup nuts, chopped = chopped after measuring

Wheat berries are ok .. but you need a decent mill to grind them fine enough. That's something I don't have. I do have a meat grinder .. one of those old hand crank ones ... and a meat slicer. Making my own flour is just not high on my list ... lol

1 cup chopped nuts = chopped before measuring

1 cup nuts, chopped = chopped after measuring

This is correct.

Here's another example:

1 cup of sifted flour: sift first then measure

1 cup of flour sifted: measure first, then sift it

Parchment paper might be hazardous to your health?!! Say it ain't so!!! It is my absolute favorite in the kitchen. I can't bring myself to use silipat or anything of the kind. Cook your food on heated silicone? Sounds like a very bad idea to me!! I think I'll take my chances with parchment but will look into it further.

Tip: You can buy precut parchment paper 12 × 16½ which fits a standard baker's half sheet pan. Cookies, roasting veggies, etc. Kicks arse on the boxed roll of parch that you have to cut, never get the size right, nor do they lay flat. They also sell them round, perfect for cake pans, and they also sell round ones with holes so your dumplings don't stick to your bamboo steamers!!!! I don't bake, I cook and I use parchment all the time.
