Handed my notice in on Monday morning. Purchased a laptop and phone sim of my own. Not a peep from CEO or anyone as yet. Did get a request from commercial for a copy of the contract I run. I know they are panicking. Contract is up for renewal this year, looks bad to have instability.
All I know is I gave notice and from May I am a full time 'unemployed' student. No idea how this will end but the peace I feel now makes it worth it already.
I am very much looking forward to my 'year out of life'. So many new experiences just waiting for me.
Any 'natural living' suggestions welcome. It kind of doesn't seem authentic to Google how to be a hippie :-)

Apology. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

If it were me w time off in Australia I might study permaculture, that's where it was born. Mollison et al. Those permie people are the most positive natural living types.
And close to that are the nature connection people. Not sure what they have there, we have Jon Young and Tom Brown Jr in the US, but people from all over the world have studied with them and brought back their particular way of tracking and bird language to their countries.
If you've heard of 'Nature Deficit Disorder' it was coined by Richard Louv who wrote No Child Left in the Woods, and The Nature Principle. Basically saying our brains function better, our whole physiology functions better when we regularly interact w nature. I would think that after completing a chunk of time at a serious job, time in nature would be very rebalancing.
Whatever you decide, follow what interests you and enjoy!

Thanks all for the suggestions.
I will be studying full time to finish my final year of degree so unfortunately not free to travel and help out in remote communities per se.
The place I will be living is pretty remote and I am wanting to try living more naturally. Was thinking of trying things like 'no poo', making own deodorant, minimising carbon foot print, eating more whole foods and growing own herbs and vegetables.
@ ramen. I assume that's like 2 minute noodles.
I think lentils might be the go

Ramen is 2 minute noodles that cost 20-25 cents a package in the right places. Student-fare.
