Then there is the confusion when dealing with businesses that say their hours of operation are such-and-such 'standard time' even though they are in an area that observes daylight saving time.
Hours 9-5 Pacific Standard Time. If I call at 5:30 Pacific Daylight Time will they answer or not? I live life on the edge sometimes.

The thing with DST is that unlike WW II, when it arguably saved resources, not the we have evidence that DST increases use of electricity and puts school kids at risk while they wait for busses in the dark.
We really need to make decisions about our communal lives based on evidence....

As a mother who will have a child waiting for the bus soon, DST pisses me off because he will only get to wait for the bus in the light for about 2 weeks, and then its back to being in the dark....uggg...

I kind of liked it this morning!! My dog gets up at 6:45 or so like clockwork and I go downstairs and let him out of the crate. Not this morning! It was 8am before he started asking to come out! Which is nice because it allowed me to get some things done before I was chasing him around to get back what he'd stolen, or giving him heck for counter surfing

It came about during WWII to save lamp oil, but I haven't seen anyone using oil lamps lately and outdoor lighting now usually uses an automatic eye to come on at a specific darkness, so time has no effect at all...someone has to be making money from it, IMO.

So I came into work today and my nurse asked me how the weekend was.
"It was the shortest weekend. EVER!" says I.
She says, "WEll, it was because of daylight saving time!"

I don't like it either. You'd think we sprang ahead eight hours by how tired I get and how many days it takes me to readjust. I do like the evening light lately, but I don't like how it makes me feel so off.
