Today is DD's 23 birthday. She wanted to spend a family day at the beach and then she, WH and I have reservations at Ruths Chris. Simple, right?

Well no. WH decides this morning to fix our leaky kitchen faucet. It's been leaking for about 9 months. But suddenly today is the day.

So, as with most projects in an old house, everything goes wrong. Things break, parts don't fit etc. DD and her friend arrive to go to the beach. WH is swearing a blue streak at the faucet.

WH's truck is the only vehicle we have that will make it to the beach so we can't go without him.

DD sits for awhile, but it's now almost 2pm. Reservations are at 6 and the restaurant is an hour away. WH has to go to the hardware store again.

DD tells me me we can just do this another time. She is clearly disappointed. She and her friend leave. It is clear that all the shine is off of her special day.

Over a fucking sink that has been leaking forever. Nice way to show DD where she is on your priority list.

Way to go asshole. Way to go.

It's awful! He's literally throwing a fit. I'm sure the neighbors all think he's calling me all of those names. The dogs are curled up together under my chair and the cat is nowhere to be found.

I am sure that part of this is his frustration over our situation. Its the most emotion and passion he's shown since his dog passed away 18 mos. ago.

I'm sitting here having flashbacks to Pigfucker. The worst part is that I'm trapped here. I loaned my car to my daughters BFF so she could get to work.

This sucks.

It is their dysfunctional way of sabotaging situations. They thrive on excuses and drama.

What an ass, you DD deserves better. Leave him home and go. He can sulk all he wants!

Why can't you drive his truck? I'm confused.

He needed his truck to go back and forth to the hardware store. DDs car is too low to drive to our beach (it bottoms out on the rough dirt road). She was just so let down she and her friend left. We are going to go next weekend.

Created a drama then got upset when it became dramatic? Sounds familiar.
