Last night my WH's wallet was stolen. He left the wallet on the counter at a store. When he realized minutes later and ran back it was already gone. The store manager was a jerk and unhelpful so we filed a police report.
Needless to say losing a wallet is a huge hassle, the money and wallet are gone but also to ID cards and credit cards inside. So when we realized it was gone we did what we could but it's unlikely to be returned.
After the fact my WH was very whiny about it. I tried to comfort him, we are ok it's just a wallet everything can be replaced. He didn't seem to care and went to bed. This really upset me. He lost his wallet, I did what I could to support him and he still is whiny and takes it out on me. I know we are married and should support eachother, but I really don't feel like taking care of his issues right now.

I can't blame you. Yeah, it was a mistake leaving it on the counter, and it is a hassle, and I'd be upset too, but you vent over it and then get over it and do what you need to do to mitigate the damage and replace the lost stuff. I sincerely hope that he woke up today in a better mood, or it may be time for you to swing a 2x4 at his head. (((hugs)))
Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

Make sure you call and notify all the financial institutes of the theft. They have fraud coverage insurance but only honor it if you notify them. They will issue you new account numbers and cards.
You can also put a one year alert and hold with the three major credit reporting agencies to stop anyone getting a loan or credit in your name. Experian, Eqiufax, and TransUnion.
