Um yea I agree with all the above. I also really have a love/hate relationship with For Rent. I am years from buying a property but very familiar with renting apartments. I hate it when a person is like yea I want walk in closets, elevator, doorman, fully renovated, laundry room, fitness center, parking space, room to entertain and I only want to pay $600-700 a month. Oh and also it has to be in the middle of the busiest part of the city cuz I wanna be trendy.....then they show them a space that somehow meets almost all if not all their requirements but is a 10 minute walk from trendy neighborhood and they're like "but I wanted it to be in blah blah blah....." im like DUDE!!!!!!

The broker and renovator on Love It or List It annoy the heck out of me!!! Their goal is to spite each other instead of helping the client and they make it so obvious.

I lived in an open concept and let me tell you, it's overrated. One time DD was in the DR, I was in the kitchen, and H was in the LR and we were sitting there having a conversation. We joked that we were in three separate rooms and able to carry on a conversation with no yelling. It was weird. We actually thought about putting up a few walls to make it feel like it was more than one giant room! (anybody wanna buy it, btw? It's for sale )

And the closet joke . And the term 'mancave' pisses me off.

Now, Flea Market Flip...love that show!

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

I agree with everything that's been mentioned. I actually yell at the TV when they can't see past wall color. Or a kitchen or bathroom looks too "outdated". They walk through the house ans say things like "That will have to be changed" when it's something perfectly functional. Just because something is ugly, doesn't mean you can't live with it! People are too spoiled nowadays.

Also, when they walk into a huge closet and say, "Well this just isn't big enough". Seriously people, how many clothes do you own?!

I have a concept for a show that renovates homes for pet owners. Anyone want to be my backer/producer?

With HH and HH1 have you noticed that just about every episode includes the statement "this would be great for entertaining"

Is it just me...I also like having people over but that certainly wouldn't be my primary focus when buying a new place.

And I agree about the paint color comments previously made...Gah! it's called paint and its available at the local hardware store.

but I still like watching regardless of my complaints!

I used to like Property Brothers but people get all pissy with them and at the end of the show, these folks are usually handed a gorgeous house!

What I hate about House Hunters is sometimes they go back 2 weeks later, after the couple has moved in, and of course there are boxes and crap everywhere. Seriously, go back in 6 months when they've actually done something and put everything away.

HH International - well, some of those places with no plumbing or the washer and dryer in the kitchen....makes me glad to live here....

I've read that with the couples on HH they've already purchased the house before the show. Then, for the show, they show them their newly purchased house and two other random homes. I wonder if sometimes they see the other houses and get pissed about what they missed out on.

I want the Property Brothers to come and renovate a house for me.

I don't know anyone who would gut and renovate in 5 weeks on 50-60k, not to the extent they do.

I love all the shows.

I think the designer on Love It or List It is very sexy. She's not enough of a draw to make me forgo something more interesting, but I do like how she looks/acts/carries herself.

What bugs me about LILI is that the owners never bump the budget when they need to do unexpected structural work, like rewiring or shoring up the foundation or replacing fire-damaged wood, etc.

Other things about LILI that I hate include: 1) too many people list it on supposedly economic grounds without considering the cost of selling and moving, and 2) they owners don't consider the impact of putting the same $ into both houses.

We're addicted to HH/HHI. Sometimes the people seem pretty nice actually, although I just saw a couple with $1M to spend in Vegas, and I couldn't help thinking, 'I hope they go broke!'

I agree - HHI is like a vacation....

Is this the series where they show them three different houses, and one is always waaaaayyyyyy out of their price range? And then they try to sound like they know what they're talking about while making stupid comments about the houses?

How exactly did you know that? Do you watch, too????

Not just you! I've often thought.. just how many people are you having over? And really if they won't just sit on your couch without sight lines to your amazing granite topped bar .. then you need new friends

I watch all those shows on HGTV

Anyone see the show with the dad and his daughter looking for a second Island to buy? (They already had ONE island!)

I kept hoping for more information on the man as he was a VERY attractive single guy. Heck yeah I could go for a man who owns TWO islands!

I could do that even though he has a bossy, possessive daughter following him around.

The 'second island' they bought was for millions.

Yup. My friend's aunt was on the show.

I watch HH, and really want to smack a lot of the people. As others have said, they want EVERYTHING. They pout if the appliances aren't stainless steel. They want granite everywhere, and I've seen a LOT that say they have to gut the kitchen because they "don't like the granite".

I need to put my house on the market, but every time I watch HH, I just feel like no one would even want my house cuz it's not "perfect" and my gosh, some of the rooms need to be painted. And, NO, I don't have blasted SS appliances!!!

Now a great show is Rehab Addict. That woman can do anything! She buys "Dollar Houses" and rehabs them. She uses materials already there, if possible and I once saw a show where she took the toilet out of her OWN house to fit a rehab house! She's into it!
