Today BH, DD, and I went to a cookout at my in-laws. Since its Monday my BH could only stay til 12:30... I had assumed that when he left DD and I would also leave.

But surprisingly my MIL offered to give me and DD a ride home later in the afternoon when we were ready to leave...I was shocked that she offered cuz I didnt think she would want me to stay once my BH left.

I ended up leaving with my BH so I could pick up my car and then went back to my inlaws and DD and I spent two more hours there! !

I'm happy to hear things are progressing with your bh's family as well! It's so much easier for him if his family is willing to support his decision to stay and r.

That is a big step. I know how you felt that MIL has isolated you. Did you tell BH how happy that made you?

Yes I did! I told him I was surprised but extremely happy about it and that this was a huge thing...he agreed and also seemed very happy about it!

And the best thing is it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be...I spent most of the time sitting with my MIL and SIL and talking with them.
