Oh luvbug, I am SOOOOOOO sorry. Your ex was cruel and selfish to let Oscar suffer, but YOU showed him the compassion, love, and ended his suffering. This is NOT on you. YOU did the right thing for Oscar. The POS ex did NOT.

I guess my guilt comes into play in that I left Oscar with someone who clearly did not love and value him like I thought he did.
Ex once told me during our breakup that he loves our pups as if they were his own kids and he would always take care of them.
Oscar came through the rescue I volunteer for 2 years ago. He was given up on at 8 years old by the only family he ever knew because they were expecting their second baby.
It cost nearly $3200 this past fall to diagnose and treat him for hepatitis. We spent weeks nursing him back to health and ex knew exactly what he needed to watch for.
Even though the hepatitis is not what made him so sick in the end, ex was well versed in what to watch for as far as Oscar feeling well or not.
In the end ex just gave up on Oscar too. 
I'll never forgive him for that.
