I read this book and thought it was an insightful book. This is not an infidelity or a help you heal type of book. What this book does do is analyze intimate relationships, from their beginning through divorce, and identify the turning points in the relationship that leads to a break down. I found it useful that the analysis included both points of views when explaining the causes.
I felt this book was written more for the professional, rather than a typical couple; however, if you have already read several infidelity and relationship books, you should have no problem following this book. The book was particularly helpful to me during reconciliation because it helped confirm my marriage was back on track and we were avoiding the pitfalls that often lead to divorce.
One of the best tips I took away from this book was the concept that, "all problems in a relationship start with a secret". In other words, if you are unhappy with something about your spouse or the relationship, you choose to deal with it by complaining to someone else (your secret), rather than telling your spouse.
If you are in R, or still trying to figure out what went wrong in your marriage, then I highly recommend this book.
