Anybody use them? SO and I are building a new house and looking at the possibility of using the cabinets from IKEA. I don't personally know anybody who has and I am wondering how they hold up to day to day use?

We had them in our last house. We found their customer service amazing and putting them together and installing took a day. We did it ourselves. We had them for four years and they stood up very well and looked very nice. We sold the house at that point.
We used different counter tops, so I can't make a recommendation there.
We will probably use them in our kitchen reno on this house when the time comes.

I have not used them myself, but on another forum I am on, people rave about them. I've yet to read a negative review. I think there is actually an independent website where people share photos and ideas and reviews on their Ikea kitchens. Might want to do a google search.

When I moved into this house 2 years ago I gutted the kitchen and put in Ikea cabinets. I love them - easy to clean - the soft closing is wonderful. My son in law just remodelled his parents home and put in a new kitchen with Ikea cabinets. Amazing how they look - I would definitely recommend Ikea.

Ikea cabinets and doors are fab. The cheaper worktops are horrible and deteriorate quickly. Oh and steer clear of the round sinks (they splash everywhere and caused my worktop to warp).

Ours is probably 7 years old and shows no signs of wear. I liked that they could be used for creative space solution ideas. Love having the plates/bowls in drawers for example. Like GrizBear said the soft closing door/drawer fronts are wonderful.
I also like the variety of door options so when I'm bored with a colour/look, they are easy to change out.

My last rental had them and I LOVED that kitchen.
I did not, however, love the lazy susan spinning corner cabinet - it was like a suspension rod, not screwed in, and it was constantly getting knocked off balance just from normal use and then wouldn't spin. I gave up trying to use it.

The contractor that did my kitchen told me that he used IKEA cupboards for his own kitchen but with custom-made cover panels and doors. That way he got a custom-look on his kitchen at semi-IKEA prices.
Now I only wish he had told me that before my wife ordered that expensive, fancy wallet-draining kitchen! 
One tip for assembling IKEA products (like the cabinets); Add a dab of wood-glue to seams and joints. It give that extra strength that holds everything together.

Mine are going on 8 years and my brother's are over 10. Love them, still look great! My brother and his wife are both architects and they've recommended them to numerous people.
Me - 52 D-Day 2/5/10, separated 3 wks later, Divorced 11/15/11!!!!
