I do my sheets every week, bathrooms and kitchen I keep very clean, the garage...you are risking your life to enter it. I have never heard of deep cleaning pots and pans but if I have a super dirty pot or pan I put it in a dark garbage bag with a 1/2 cup ammonia and stick on the back deck for the day. Usually pretty easy to clean after that. My thing I hate to clean are mirrors and such. Don't know why but glass cleaner always bugs me.

I just replace the screens whenever the cat or one of the dogs goes through it. I keep about 3 or 4 rolls in the basement at any one time.

Computer keyboards, cleaning options:

1 - follow the manufacturers instructions involving a several hour ordeal of soaking it in the bathtub in soapy water or whatever insane ritual they recommend, or:

2 - nick one of the $5 keyboards from the office that they're about to throw out because they have four hundred extra that came with the shitty disposable desktops they're using in systest, or:

3 - spend ten bucks on a new one every 9 to 12 months and save yourself the time it takes to dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and lovingly swab each key.

Tempus Fuckit.

I'm never marrying again, remember. Neither are you!! But I LOVE cleaning other peoples houses. It is just generally impolite to do so unless you are my soul sister.

I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

I'm surprised - I do most of those things more often than it says to. But I don't think of myself as a particularly clean person.

I think there are at least two types of people. Those that cleaning and other routine chores soothe and send their minds into a zen state and those that doing something routine frees the mind to worry over everything they have ever done or might do in their lifetime. Sadly I am the latter. I'm not a dirty person but I have to have something else going on while I'm doing the routine stuff or I spend the time thinking about what I should have said during that argument I had with the cashier 15 yrs ago .

That said I do most of those at least as often as recommended. Carpets I do more often, windows and car less often.

I can't remember the last time I washed my car...I just pray for a heavy rain....

And my confession to cleaning...

I have a cleaning service that comes in twice a month...

It's not that I really need one cause I'm that busy..... I really deep clean the night before she arrives...(Yes, I clean the whole house before they get here)...so, I'm not judged about my "dirty" habits....and she can't gossip about my "dirty house."

I can say it keeps me on my toes....

Isn't that sad....

Cookie, my house is never cleaner than when I know people will be coming.

My SO has adopted the routine, because he knows if he doesn't, I will. So now when he has people over he does all the cleaning. I should encourage him to socialize more. It's fantastic.

The best one...

I watched a neighbor-lady across the street putting laundry baskets into her trunk.....

I didn't have to say a word...she says,

"Shit, my mother-in-law's coming to dinner, got to hide this junk somewhere."

I told her the washing machine seems to be a good spot...

She said she couldn't cause that is where she hides the good snacks from the kids...

Reminds me of a scene from New Girl, I think she was disgusted that her male roommates had reportedly never cleaned their shower. Like, duh, doesn't it pretty much get washed every time we use it? One of the guys says, "Next you're going to tell me I should wash my towel."
