small rant, intrusive phone calling

Because of abusive and intrusive phone calling when we first S, our parenting agreement strictly limits the non custodial calling.

Four years out and things are pretty normalized. Stretch has of course taken all rules and guidelines and ignored when and what he feels like. Surprised anyone?

Yesterday, the boys and I took a day trip to an amusement park. It was a 20 hour day, four hours in the car. Tons of walking. Humid, hot, roller coasters, water park, etc. We were TIRED, sore, a little sunburnt, blisters on the feet, sweaty. Even after the very long day, everyone needed a shower when we finally got home.

So....Stretch starts calling just before noon. We were all still sleeping! I said "starts calling." He called my land line four times and my cell phone once between noon and one thirty. He let the phone ring until the answering machine picked up, or it went to voice mail each time but never left a message.

I think this is incredibly rude. No one answers, FOR A FUCKING REASON. You absolutely MUST make contact, write it down. Send it by carrier pigeon. I will give it to the boys when they wake up. Or you know, 21st century and all, leave a message! Think we might not be home? Send a text to my mobile. Contact achieved, first time.

Calling over and over is just demanding to be met on YOUR terms, and I'm sorry, we don't play that game anymore.

***update***

What did he want? Was there an emergency? Was he concerned that we didn't get home ok? Was he dying to hear about the boys' fun yesterday? You would think so based on the persistent attempts to reach us....

Turns out it was about some cats. His exact words?

I looked at the cats today.

They immediately attacked me.

I like them.

So many things to say here....

anyone want to play?

.... sigh. I said:

I will have the boys call tonight.

My ex will do this too. Call/text until SOMEONE returns his call. Then he will say, "Well, I was worried!" Doofas...we were just outside playing tennis (or whatever...), don't get your panties is a wad.

Translation: "I shall NOT be ignored!! No one puts doofas in a corner!"

Yup. That's it in a nutshell. We are to be at their beck and call at all times. Normal channels of communication such as voicemails are not adequate for their immensely important needs.

Flippin' idiot...

Glad you and the kiddos had a great day.

Oh CG, my friend, I know you were a tad irritated. I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing, he HAD to share with you that the cats attacked him, and he LIKES them!!

I'm hoping he gets attacked a bit more often and that those kittens like to play with skew's balls or some other vital sensitive part.

Hugs,

K

Ugh caregiver. NPD much?

We are to be at their beck and call at all times.

Because we only live to serve their needs.....

Yes, it is all about not being ignored.

He finally gave up and sent the text, which I responded to with "I'll have the boys call."

Responses I imagined sending instead?

Good kitties!

Oh yes! What a great idea! something small and furry you can ruin with your idiotic treatment of vulnerable things.

Sure, get a pet. You are so financially responsible and all caught up on CS...

Oh boy, a pet! I have had pets that lived longer than my 14 year marriage. You? Yeah, long term responsibility... don't see much evidence of that.

At least cats have claws and teeth.

If he gets a pet, maybe my kids will get positive loving interaction with something every other weekend...

A pet? Don't you need a place to live first?

whatever...

Confession time.

Stretch has built the boys up for getting these two kittens tomorrow. Naturally, name suggestions followed.

My contribution? How about Narcissus and Echo?
