STBXH changed jobs, has different health insurance. The good news is he added DS. Of course I was not added to the policy. Its the weekend. I don't know if I can get cobra through the old insurance, we weren't divorced.

I don't know what I am going to do. I HATE this.

I want to call him and yell at him. I hate him for what he has put me through.

Has anyone been through this?

I want to call him and yell at him.

Save your breath for the call to your L first thing Monday morning. Your stbx may have changed jobs, but he's still considered to be legally *married*.

I haven't been through this personally, but Monster is ramping up the "fuckwithGonnafinancially" nonsense lately, so I would not be surprised to receive notice through the mail that *I* no longer have health insurance. The tom-fuckery of all of this sucks as much as all of the rest of it.....

In my effort to be *concise*, I often come off as blunt and harsh. Sorry, don't mean to be offensive.

If you were covered under him at his last job then you would be eligible for COBRA. You have 60 days (confirm that #, I can never keep it straight)to sign up from your date of non-coverage.

But it retros's back to that date. So if you lost coverage July 1, you have to pay the entire month of July so you do not have a break in coverage.

His employer has 30 days to mail out info--that he may have already received about the process. But I would call his previous employer directly to find out.

Keep in mind COBRA is expensive-100% of the insurance premium plus a 2% service charge. You may be able to find a basic policy for less $$, depending on what you need.

Good Luck.

If you are still married then he most likely still has to provide health insurance for you. Contact your attorney Monday morning. In many states what he's done is a BIG no-no.
