Am I the only one who doesn't like the "Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ" thing? I love Claire's feistiness and that she doesn't hold back in her language, but that phrase always felt awkward to me when reading. It felt even more so hearing it said in the series. Is it just me?
Nope. That's one of the only things I dislike about the books and the only thing I HATE about the tv series. I always read it as her muttering it under her breath in the books. It sounds super awkward on screen.

HOW did this series escape my notice for the last 20+ years??? It's exactly the kind of thing I like. Halfway through book 2, just watched the premiere, and am ordering Starz solely to watch the rest of the season. I agree with tv Frank being more sympathetic and them having a loving relationship before she goes back; it makes her choice more poignant. Also since I just started reading the books I didn't have them fixed in my mind clearly, but YES for the guy playing Jamie. I'm a suckered for a Scots accent, would listen to him read the phone book *swoon*
Am all about the Outlander right now lol

I'd have to go back and watch again (when I do I'll edit this post) but what I remember is when she came through the standing stones noticing she had a watch, belt and I think bracelet on and I was wondering how they were going to deal with that then roll down the hill and they are all gone.
It was just a little too pat for me. There was something about the dress also but I'd have to watch to be sure what I remember is correct. Small stuff but I know

I'm sticking with the books. It's MUCH better now that I'm in "the thick of it".
Still hate Frank.

Liked it. Haven't read the books. I didn't like Frank, but I liked when he got on his knees to ummmmm......errr, ummmm...... pleasure Claire.

I watched it tonight! I didn't know that I even had Starz OnDemand and didn't think to look for it until I found this thread. So happy I found this thread! THANK YOU!!!
I love the books, discovered them about 2 years ago read them voraciously and anxiously had the newest delivered to my Kindle as soon as it was released.
The first TV episode was pretty great. Beautifully shot. The actor playing Jamie was divine and the actress playing Clair was better than I thought she'd be. Didn't like Frank's character in the books, he just wasn't developed enough as a character I think, but hmmmmmmmm.
Looking forward to next Saturday now. How many episodes are in the series??
