Consarn it you guys, it's practically FAKE snow. Flocking. California!! We'll be on the beach every day!!!

ETA: The stuff in that picture is going to melt and then we won't see precipitation again until December, if we're lucky. Girl Scout's honor.

Your wimpy California snow doesn't scare me. But I was practically promised colorful fall foliage, and I demand satisfaction.

'Wimpy snow' might not do any damage. When we get snow that early here, it knocks the leaves out of the trees, if it doesn't knock the trees down. Leaf peeping colors are then non-existent. We have REAL snow here!

So, some advice...sort of new to traveling alone and I'm wondering what most of you do for accomodations. Do you just find a hotel room? I looked at airbnb and every place is so big for one person.

Harriet - I keep seeing this and thinking "Ooh, I better PM her!" and then I get sidetracked.

Crazz and I got married in this location, so I actually have a lot of lodging ideas up my sleeve. Please PM me if you don't hear from me tonight.

Ok, I've been thinking about this. Since this area is new to me, my attendance might depend on finding a roommate to help navigate, etc. I wouldn't mind suggestions for accommodations, too, to check out. Jrazz or Jpapa......?

Knight works the second weekend and (if he gets a shift trade) we have the Texas G2G the third weekend.

I could try asking REEEEEALLY nicely if it's the first weekend...and if I can arrange for child care.

I think I hear fibbing...Tahoe gets big snow. I flew in during a blizzard. Our plane was the last to land that day. Then I had to drive to Carson City in it.

Okaaaaay..... no help on the mod front....

HONESTLY. We were in Tahoe in December a couple years ago and we were playing on a playground by the lake. Could we even DO that if it were covered in snow?

Alright - that was a bad example.

The fall foliage pictures you saw came from the first week of November a couple years ago. Early October? Solid golds and reds for sure. If an early storm blows through you have my permission to paint me in fall colors so you will have something to enjoy.

Yeah, the thing about living here is the weather is totally unpredictable. Read: the Donner party.

We actually usually do get a freakishly early snow storm in October. BUT, it's not like blizzard condition type stuff. A couple inches or some flurries that melt off the next day.

I mean, it's not going to be HOT, but you might get this: [/URL]>

*or, you'll get nothing because they won't load lol
