I’m so sorry bookworm,
I lost my mom three years ago.
My work and my friends were amazing.
Is there a cultural difference?
I would be hurt, too. Hugs and love and sympathy .
Stop right there, I already don't give a fuck.

Thank you for your compassion and support.
Greeneyesbluezy, there is no cultural difference to mention, apparently it's just me and my sister they don't appreciate enough to give a f.... I am in the pissed off phase now, so it's getting better.
Everyone who lost somebody knows the feeling, when you realize, It hits you actually like a ton of bricks, there won't be any more phone calls at inappropriate hours, when your mother says I just wanted to hear how you are doing. Ever...
English is not my language, sorry for mistakes and funny words...

Bookworm,
Maybe you hit on something there. When you’ve gone through such a tremendous loss, I feel you gain such empathy for others in their losses. Some haven’t suffered these losses, some hated their parents, some were relieved that the suffering was over. Some just really suck at funerals and comforting.
The funeral is not for the dead, but the living. I’m so sorry you and your sister weren’t supported.
I miss mom every day. 💝

Greeneyesbluezy and SweetheartVixen thank you for your thoughts. It means so much to me, I don't feel so alone anymore. My SO is very supportive, but in some regards he is very matter of factly, he wants to solve problems, in his lovable outdoorsy caveman way. But there is the biggest problem nobody can solve. My mum is not coming back. Right now, I just need somebody to hold me.

Bookworm, I am so sorry about your loss.
I lost my mother 3 years ago. She came to visit us for Christmas, became unexpectedly ill and died 1 month later.
I had to deal with organizing a funeral abroad and it was so traumatizing.
I miss my mum every single day. She was 67....

((((Bookworm))))
I still miss my mom, 13yrs later. She was 67.
Tell your SO you need a hug, people do want to help, they don't always know how.
My XWH died 3 weeks ago. I didn't realize it would affect me so much. I've been lucky and gotten closer to my aunt. I needed motherly advice to help my son's. I hope you find support here or from someone near you.
