The end of a marriage leaves one feeling very alone. Feeling alone causes one to undertake a mental assessment of one's assets and liabilities, which unfortunately includes things like age, physical appearance, etc. We know intellectually that (a) no matter how young and hot we are, there will be somebody who is younger and/or hotter, and (b) physical beauty is totally subjective.
However, I realize that being dumped for a woman who is young and hot is like salt in the wound. We see similar comments from men whose wives have sexual affairs with young muscular physical trainers. It is a harsh and very personal reminder of my point (a), above.
My suggestion is: don't let that define you. Keep in mind point (b). Here is one small example. I have friends who are into petite Asian women. They obsess over their lithe little figures. To me, those figures look like little boys. I like curvy, thick women. Hips and ass. My point is that, although our culture in general obsesses over youth, especially in women, among individuals there is a very wide spectrum of what people find visually attractive.
Further, visual attraction only lasts until people get to know each other. Then, chemistry becomes more important. Have you ever heard the phrase: "Show me a beautiful woman, and I'll show you a man who is tired of fucking her." The phrase has to do with the common perception that beautiful women become accustomed to men being aggressive sexually toward them, to the point where they invest little or no effort into pleasing their man sexually. Once the novelty of having sex with Halle Berry wears off, a man becomes resentful that Hally's go-to sexual act is the "just lay there".
