The MOST ACCURATE GPS locator that I have ever found is within the Android Lost app and is 'FREE' from the Google Play Store.
**Special Note: This app ONLY works on an Android NO iPhones.
I have never found a GPS that works on an iPhone and my PEACE of mind is imperative so back to an Android phone he went!
I would strongly suggest that you install the Android Lost app on your phone ASAP (since you have an Android) and get comfortable with all of the features of the app so that you're ready to hit the pavement running once he gets his new Android phone.

We use Life360 and it seems very accurate so far. I have an android and he has an iPhone.
