Follow the lawyer's advice.

Not sure about moving across country until everything is settled. Ask you lawyer about that.

Once the divorce is final, then definitely get out of town for good and start over someplace else.

As others have said Denny, follow your lawyer's advice. Also, don't lose your resolve. It was a very good move to call the police. Allow the lawyer to handle all communication and all of the paperwork. You may or may not get your house back but that's the least of your worries. Getting free without any strings attached is the most important task you have in front of you. Take care of yourself.
