I saw some sort of little video about homemade masks online.

Someone took a bandanna and folded it in half and then in half again. Then they took a ponytail holder – not a scrunchy – and put one on each side through the material then they just folded the outside of the bandanna in from each side and tucked into each other. When you put it on your face and pull the ponytail holders over your ears, it really conformed to the face and felt so much better than the ones I have been wearing.

I have discovered that I do NOT have a talent for multitasking!

My plan for today was to fill my garden boxes and get planting...

Instead my day started with taking wh to work at 4 am because I needed to pick up school stuff and needed the van. 4 am I discover the dog shit in the sunroom....and I didn't discover that in a nice way FYI St Bernard shits are the size of chihuahuas...

Then DS getting angry that he couldn't open the side door (because it was locked) and instead of asking for help he ended up breaking the handle...

While topping up the horse water thought I'd take my mare to the small pen for grain feed only to have someone drive up the driveway. Locked the mare in the pen, yelled to kids to WATCH THE WATER then dealt with visitors. They wanted me to know the cows were out...

- called farmer

- went over with my shush stick to herd cows back into pasture

- met farmer at gate to let him know I got them in and wired the gate.

- came back to find that sure enough the kids were watching the water....that is watching it overflow everywhere...

I have managed to get the landscape fabric down and ONE BOX FILLED. That's probably it for today. Wanted to have my lunch of leftover rice stir fry...that didn't go over well. Every now and then I'll eat then get the hiccups with a horrible burning in my chest. The more I hiccup the worse the burn gets. The only relief is barfing which usually happens about two minutes after this starts...spiced rice stir fry coming out of my nose isn't fun.

I did get the package from the school and got gift bags that had been put together for the kids. Books, playdoh kit, craft supplies etc. They kids loved it.

If it's not raining tomorrow I'll finish the garden. I'm done for today.

As an easy cheat to add wire to an existing mask: Cut off a section of a tshirt seam a little longer than your wire, so that you have a little tube. Slide your wire/aluminum into the tube, then just a couple stitches on each end to secure it to your mask and close the tube ends at the same time. Done!

I do this even on the masks I've been sewing (using the rest of the tshirt as rolled ties) and it's so much easier than trying to sew pockets just right and such.
