Welp. Once again I'm packed and ready to go. 3 fires combined into one. I won't lie, this shits getting old. So much destruction, devastation. Burnt leaves and ash like it's snow. Thoughts and prayers to all the firefighting heroes out there. To all the people who lost their homes. Our county was hit in 2017. Talk about anxiety ridden. I have to remind myself to breath.

One thing that brings tears of joy to me with all this is seeing the community opening up and offering their hearts and resources. We all band together.

Ugh. I’m closer to the city so am not nearly as directly impacted, but have close friends up there too.

It’s exhausting at this distance, I can only imagine how stressful it is.

Be safe.

J - if you need a place to land, let me know. It looks like P-town is far enough away we’ll be fine.

Stay safe J707. Cali is my home as well and the constant worry over fires is exhausting. Raining ash is terrifying.

Hoping for some relief for you, your neighbors and of course the firefighters.

Thank you so much! I've got a place lined up in RP if needed though.

I'm (again) so sorry to hear today's fire news. I heard that Calistoga was hurriedly evacuated. I have visited there and other places mentioned on the news in CA and OR. So sad to think of the residents of those beautiful places dealing with the stress and loss.

At the risk of sounding flip, better to feel it is getting old and evacuate as many times as it takes, J707, and be able to get old yourself. Stay safe from the double disasters. Hard to keep everything in mind at times, I'm sure.

I know thebighurt. The stress, anxiety, PTSD, lack of sleep etc. gets to me. I'm trying use my old trauma coping methods. My heart hurts for all those that lost their homes, one of my friends included. But she is safe and that's all that really matters.

Some of my old neighbors think they lost their new homes...our whole neighborhood was burned in 2017. The stress is hard - and I’m far enough away now. This sucks. We live in paradise, but it has become so stressful.

Feeling rather bad about what I said. It really was flip and simplistic and did not acknowledge everything you and everyone there need to face every day. I know I would find it very difficult to sleep in those conditions and lack of sleep makes it very difficult to be alert and make good decisions.

I do know a bit about that as my DS and family evacuated for fires twice last year. Fires came quite near to home and work, but all structures thankfully survived.

J, (if I may be familiar after that ) I'm glad your friend is okay after losing her home (as well as our own BarelyBreathing). So many there who are facing that and during the pandemic really does make the heart hurt. And many more if you include the storms and hurricanes.

Also glad that you have learned coping skills to help now in spite of how you got them.
