After filing for D 18 months ago I am signing the final decree today!!!! People tell me I should be sad but I feel nothing but relief. It only took 10 broken agreements to finally come to terms on basically the same offer I made 18 months ago. The rest of my life starts today and the trauma from the A has subsided.
A friend if mine asked if I knew why divorce was so expensive? Because it is worth it.

I felt nothing but relief when my divorce was finally done too. I wasn't sad at all. I even had a celebratory weekend with my friends.
Here's to the rest of your life. May it be filled with peace and happiness always!
No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

I gotta tell you... I am so jealous. I wish that I was divorced. I am looking at about 30 months from the decision to divorce to being legally single.
Me: Crap, I'm 50 years old. D-Day: August 30, 2016. Two years of false reconciliation. Divorce final: Feb 1, 2021. Re-married: December 3, 2022.

Barcher, it felt like it would never end. She would agree to terms one day and once it was written up she would change her mind and ask for totally off the wall amounts of cash, retirement money or provisions for our college age kids that were not for her to demand. I had to fire my first attorney and then shortly after I hired the second one the Covid shutdown happened so doing anything through the court system ground to a halt. Then her lawyer filled her head with what she was “entitled” to get from me. Almost all of it was BS and my lawyer shut them down each time. We ended up at 50/50 with her getting the house and me keeping my pensions. Pretty much exactly what I offered in April of 2019. LOL.

And less than 12 hours before the final hearing her lawyer wants to make a change to a crucial part of the settlement agreement. The stupid part is that their greed is actually costing her money. We had agreed to a fixed number on the 401k split and now they want to make it a percentage. The change works out in my favor so I don’t mind but they have had the paperwork for 3 weeks but all of a sudden it is an issue. Glad the idiot has no clue about the stock market it is costing her some serious dollars now.

It's probably her attorney's strategy to get you frustrated to the point where you tell your attorney to agree to just get it over with. Don't fall for it.
