How many people are engineers or software developers?

RedHeadTemper posted 12/5/2019 08:14 AM

Civil engineers don't count! just kidding.

childofcheater posted 12/5/2019 13:26 PM

I'm a systems Analyst. Aka programmer..does that count?

barcher144 posted 12/5/2019 13:30 PM

I don't count.

Although, I have many different titles (depending on how you want to look at me) but "Civil Engineer" is definitely one of them.

ShatteredSakura posted 12/5/2019 13:33 PM

Software Engineer here.

I work on CAD software for Civil Engineers ironically (some of my coworkers have their feet in both disciplines)

Software developer. My concentration has been in speech recognition for the last 16 years or so, but now I'm in a different position learning different tech. Been doing software development for over 22 years.

Ceramic engineer here, but moved to the Dark Side years ago and am in sales . (Currently software sales)

tbkjcn posted 12/5/2019 22:23 PM

I spent about 12 years as a programmer, then moved into networking, specifically service-provider/telco, now manager of network engineering for a regional fiber provider. So I guess I can answer "yes" to both halves of your question.

wildbananas posted 12/5/2019 23:22 PM

I'm in QA for a software developer... close!

Verdamnttauschen posted 12/8/2019 15:23 PM

Sr. Software and Test Engineer.

sisoon posted 12/9/2019 17:27 PM

I provided environments for development and operations.

My systems were great, but sometimes users - developers among them - effed them up.

Just sayin'....

Lies and slander!

Developers are good boys and girls

devotedman posted 12/11/2019 13:33 PM

Programmer since a preteen, just retired after 30+ years at a company and quickly recruited by a couple others. I have a job again! :D

I realized I've never been on this part of SI. Browsed through and saw this thread.

I have an engineering degree working as a Systems Analyst. I don't do codes, but designs and tests. I tried to learn programming, but really not my thing.

Both, circuits by day software by night. Most people reading this own at least one thing I have contributed to.

Buck posted 1/26/2020 17:08 PM

I am an engineer, process control, automation, and data acquisition.
