Beyond Affairs Network Meetup

cocoplus5nuts posted 12/13/2019 07:46 AM

I went to my first one last night. It was amazing! It felt so good to talk to other people face to face who knew what I have experienced and how I felt. It was like talking to older friends. I could be completely open and honest. I didn't have to pretend.

Wonderful news! Thatís how I felt at S-Anon meetings. First time I could be completely, appropriately, therapeutically honest.

coco
so happy u found an irl tribe!!

I have heard of this but there is nothing like it around where I currently am.

cocoplus5nuts posted 12/13/2019 08:51 AM

Shehawk, they do seem to be few and far between. There are 3 meetings in my area, but I think 2 of them are too far for me to drive. The one closer to me doesn't meet very often. It might pick up now that there's one more person interested in going regularly.

You might be able to host one yourself.

BAN meetings help you to heal, meeting others and sharing takes you out of isolation and that feeling of no one understands. On the Beyond Affairs Network website, you can apply to become a coordinator for your area if a BAN Group does not exist. I did that, and hosting the group has not only helped me, but has been a blessing for others walking through this chaos. Become a volunteer Coordinator, itís simple and worth it.

There's a BAN group in Green Bay. I went to 2 different ones for a couple of years. They were 2 hours driving time away. It was well worth it. I would have kept going except the group stated using Facebook instead of Meetup for meetings and communication. I don't do any social media.

For those that are looking google Beyond Affairs Network then click on the adultery support tab (can't remember the exact name). There will be a list of countries on the left had side. Choose yours, then the state or province to find the city.

Small face to face support group with people at various stages past DDay.

I've been going to BAN meetings for the last 2 years, an excellent support group for all BS if available!

I'm trying to start going to these, but haven't heard back. Not sure if my email got through, as the first time I responded it wasn't delivered. I tried again and it seems to have gone through, but still haven't heard back. I think it would be a great help to talk face to face with real people who have been there.

Keep trying, fournlau
