1 month of separation

Surpisedtobehere posted 9/7/2020 20:34 PM

Today is a bittersweet day. A bit of loneliness crept in once the kids went to bed but, it's bound to happen after a 10-year relationship. What makes this day amazing is that 1 month is a mini-milestone to be away from the lies, deception, torture, and misery! Each day has been better with the thoughts of the situation and I've noticed that they happen a little further apart than they were before so that's super encouraging!

I still have a long road of healing and that's okay. The time with my kids has been incredible (we did a 6k hike today and enjoyed the sun and water at the beach prior) and I'm focused on them and myself. Going to start eating better and working out so that's exciting!

Nice update! It takes a little time for your body and mind to realize the anxiety is gone, the fear is gone, this quiet is what safe feels like. Sure, youíll have lonely times. But the peace will be worth it, and the loneliness eases, too.

Glad you enjoyed the weekend!

Oh how I love these words. "Safe", "fear gone", "anxiety gone". So true, and yes, it takes some getting used to!

I agree. Great ways to describe it. I'm sure it does and my goal is to try to make each day better than the last!

Good to hear. Make sure you focus on your needs also. You are no good to your kids if you are not 100% in mind and body.

Great advice! Iíve started working out and running/walking daily. Iíve also been using my down time to get back to my passion of fishing which was lacking for a while! Youíre 100% right and Iím pushing to keep focused on my needs and spending time with the kids.
