...per our annual tradition: Suck my balls. I'm done with you.

I still haven't finished half the games I bought *last* year.

Dear w_a_l,

Thank you for the heads up so I can discuss with Mr Meta how much we'll be spending on games before they show up on our credit card.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

I've already picked up Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, and XCOM Enforcer...and that's just today.

I keep telling myself that I'm coming out ahead because I specifically held off on all those games in the last year waiting for the summer sale.

Now I just have to get Sparkle to agree.

Of course, I keep calling it XCOM Enforcer, and it's really Enemy Unknown...making my kids roll their eyes because they were so playing Enforcer TEN YEARS ago.

I'm like: Look, I'm lucky if I can recite what I ate for breakfast. Just show me where to shoot my little electronic gun.

I'm thinking Far Cry 3 is a must. If I enjoy it even a tenth as much as I liked Blood Dragon...

Good thing I have some extra money this year. I just bought an "RPG Maker" tool that's supposed to be really good and will be supporting Android development soon. I think an attempt at an Ouya game is in order.

So,

Dh and I had a happy little discussion last night. I told him someone told me it was the Steam Sale. I got a hug and he ran down to the basement

The Walking Dead has been purchased, and then a lot of other stuff I didn't really pay attention to.

At one point he was contemplating something that allowed him to design roadways of some sort, which he decided would be too much like his job, then decided would actually be fun because he could purposely design them with flaws and watch the little game people die, which is not allowed in real life traffic engineering..go figure.

He was also really excited about something that ended in "gold edition" but I also don't remember the name of that.

Overall the dent to the credit card wasn't too bad, and he is amused so all is well

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

Do tell... I keep comparing game prices to game assets on the Unity Store, and subscriptions prices to a Hero Cloud world account. Cost of the art pipeline required kinda holds me back.

Your mileage may vary... in accordance with the prophecy.

Do not back up. Severe tire damage.

It's called RPG Maker VX Ace. It's supposed to be reasonably simple to use, pretty powerful and if it doesn't do something you want it to do, there are tons of community created scripts that you can use as long as you credit the people who wrote them. I haven't had time to play with it yet but I have some ideas in my head for a story.

I've never heard of Steam. I will show my darling when he gets home from work. Is it better than GameStop?

BTW, Fallout NV and all of the DLC for $5 is epic. That's easily 100 hours of gameplay, and worth it for the Lonesome Road DLC alone.

Yep. I unknowingly set myself up. But we needed a new computer anyway.

One would think a new Xbox and play station would suffice...

I'm obviously not a gamer.

ETA: I'm open for suggestions on a new desktop for hubbie. I'm assuming his MacBook Pro won't do.

Building your own is the way to go if you want a gaming rig. It's fun. Sort of like a really expensive Lego set. :-)

Dear Steam Summer Sale,

I now kind of hate you because trying to use the internet is like running though jello in this house with so many damn games downloading
