Does anyone else get annoyed when the Kindle version of a book is more expensive than the paperback or hardcover!?

I mean, my purpose behind buying a kindle was to have a portable library, but it drives me crazy that I could be getting the physical book for less!

Shouldn't the lack of printing and paper costs mean we pay less, rather than paying more just for the convenience factor?

Totally agree. It makes no sense to me how a physical book can cost more than an electronic copy.

The solution is to try some of the many free or cheap books out there. Some are garbage but I've found treasures.there are a few websites you can subscribe to that send you email recommendations. One is called Daily Cheap Reads. It is pretty good.

I'm not happy with mine right now either.

So silly we are! Selling books is all about what they can get, not what it cost to produce.

They do it because they can.

I do have a LOT of freebie books on my kindle - the frustrating part is when someone tells me, "Oh, you should read this book/series/whatever -- you'd love it!" or when my IC tells me, "read this book as homework" - and then the physical book is a few bucks cheaper (even after shipping!) than the kindle version. I feel like my Prime membership should get me 20% off on kindle books, since they don't have to pay my shipping costs!
