For me, music is distracting, empowering, and gives me a sense of connection (as other people have felt my feelings).
My current themesong is P!nk: So what
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUvYR2ZYjVY
It's pretty much on repeat in my head. Even if we reconcile, it helps me reclaim my power.
Alternates right now are Erin McKeown's: Aspera
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY9rtm_wy7M
through hardships we are born to the stars.
Fiona Apple's: Extraordinary Machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjfTDDAstig
and, of course, Gaynor's: I will survive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I
Who else has inspirational songs to help regain footing and get the dance back? Links would be awesome!

I have had a whole playlist for this process I am going through, but I think this sums it up for me. I feel stronger every time I listen to it.

I'm still very angry so, my current #1 is ' U-Turn ' by Samantha...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSC7BY0zY8Q
...the video is kind of lame but, the lyrics are where I am at...
I also listen to the Armin Van Buuren song, ' Unforgivable '...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyUfJVqMtO0
Pearl Jam's ' Just Breath ' is on the favorites list. WH plays it a lot. I told him the one line in that song that I feel soooo deep,...

I do love P!nk! Kelly Clarkson is great too.
Told my request was one so unlike being you. Then, was punished for asking, by watching you become all that I needed, for someone new.
...so,..he traded my heart, for a hard-on.

Another piece of my heart
the Janis Joplin one, NOT Faith Hill!
Mean woman by Joplin is also sweet.
Extraordinary machine IS awesome, also sleep to dream by fiona apple is pretty great.
This thread is a good idea-it's relevant and fun
Ooh! And also, heartbreaker by aretha as well as chain of fools
Eta-on good days I also like "been loving you too long" by Otis redding, that one isn't exactly in heavy rotation though.

"The End Is The Beginning Is The End" by Smashing Pumpkins
(On my quieter days, it's "The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning" by Smashing Pumpkins - look them up!).
"Is it bright where you are?
Have the people changed?
Does it make you happy you're so strange?
And in your darkest hour,
I hold secret's flame.
We can watch the world devoured in its pain.
Strange..."

i promise to stop and leave this thread alone, right after I say that I just got a flash from back when I was in the thick of the rage . . .
@ that point it was all about old dirty bastard! especially his epic composition "you don't want to ____ with me"
I sincerely reccomend his work to anybody going through that part of this, you will feel as if he is speaking your personal thoughts aloud

Move Along- All American Rejects
Go ahead and waste your days with thinking
When you fall everyone stands
Another day and you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your
Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold
Speak to me, when all you've got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone,
Move Along, move along, just to make it through
Move along
Move along
So a day when you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your
Hands are shaking cold, these hands are mine to hold
Speak to me, when all you've got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when you hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
(go on, go on, go on, go on)
WHEN EVERYTHING IS WRONG, WE MOVE ALONG...
It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.

Cast another vote for Gotye.
But for sheer enjoyment, I've really been loving Royal Southern Brotherhood. A Neville and an Allman, with excellent bandmates---awesome, awesome, awesome.
