By finally comprehending and experiencing the great depths of intimacy, we can create the strong connections, deep joy, and lasting bonds that we all long for in our lives.
Has anyone read this? I've really been looking at my seemingly life-long fear of intimacy as one of (if not the) biggest broken factors of me. Before my MrWNW all my relationships were with someone "safe". Even my A was. If I didn't think I could fall in love with you, you were the guy for me!
What?! Actually, my old defenses kicked in early on in our relationship, but he wasn't having it and helped me push through them. It's why I went from the "I am never, ever getting married" girl to "Yes!" when he proposed.
I've been looking around for a book related to the subject. I came across this one and Fear of Intimacy by Robert W. Firestone. The Seven Levels of Intimacy is more current and has better reviews. So, it's next on my reading list.
I'm curious if anyone has a reading list on this subject. If so, please list the books you found the most helpful or what your thoughts were on this book. Thanks!
