I just saw this on yardbarker (connected with MSN):

Shaun Rogers, a defensive end w/the New York Giants, brought a woman back to his hotel room at around 7 a.m., put his jewelry in the safe in the room, and fell alseep.

He awoke at around 12:30 that afternoon and found her, and $400,000 worth of jewelry gone.

Why would you have that much in jewelry with you ?Expensive lesson for Shaun Rogers.

How did she get into the safe to begin with?

That's an expensive lesson to learn.

If I learned anything from watching The Italian Job, it is that hot women make the best safe crackers.

He probably wasn't a good shopper, so he jewelry was probably worth half of what he paid.

I should tell him I'll cut his loss in half, if he pays me 50% of the savings....

Was probably an in-room safe. She probably said she had to put stuff in there too so they shared the combo... just sayin'

As far as how she got in.....

Do a search for hotel room safes. You don't even need quotes around it. See what shows up on the first page.

That being said - I have used the safe in the hotel room for my electronics and some jewelry (expensive by my standards, but not THAT expensive). I know the risks. I usually only do it if I know I'm going to be out a short time, and usually only when there is no maid service.

And usually only if my only alternative is to lug all the stuff around with me, and it would likely be less safe to have it on me than in the room safe.

Nothing is ever secure in a hotel - not even locked in the safe. There's a reason hotels say they are not responsible for anything left in the room or stored in the hotel safe.
