Does she have any sinus congestion or drainage (might be what is causing the cough)? She may want to try a sinus rinse. It's just a saline water mix so it's safe for pregnant woman.

Edited to add- it's on amazon uk and is only £6 with free delivery- ordered!

The old fashioned remedy of sitting with a towel covering your head over a steaming bowl of saltwater worked well for me when I was pregnant.

I had a wretched sinus infection once and the saline gel was the only thing that helped. It can't hurt and will likely help
Have her see the doctor if the cough doesn't clear.. just in case she needs meds. They would know what was safe to give her

My dear old Dad is coming to see her tomorrow (he's a doc) but you know what these Doctors are like "anything other than medicine is jot medicine, if it were it would be called... MEDICINE" haha I was looking for a more natural way.
I've ordered that sinus stuff, it'll be good even in the future because she suffers with her sinuses in general.
Yeah the hot water we've been doing even though it sucks because she has a fever too!

I get bad sinus infections and when I use this you can see all the gunk coming out. It instantly relieves the pressure and lets you breath again. It does take a little getting use to and feels weird the first few times you use it but the instant relief is worth it. I use mine so much that I buy the refills in the bulk 200ct packs.

Netty Pot. Get one, and let her use it as much as she wants. it's like the saline rinse, but does a much better job. It looks and sounds horrid, but when you are congested and cannot take meds it works wonderfully. Vicks vapor rub will work wonderfully too, on her chest and back with a tight tshirt on. Also some honey helps if she coughing.
Fever she needs tylenol. If she truly does have an infection she needs antibiotics. You certainly don't want to be so healthy that you harm her or the development of her baby by not taking medications.
I had a horrible respiratory infection while pregnant with my son, and attempted to not take meds, it turned into a pneumonia. I was run down for the first half of my third trimester. It sucked. I would cough and tinkle, and cough and tinkle. Plus he came 3.5 weeks early and was small.
So to summarize, Netty pot, Vapor Rub, and Honey. Antibiotics if she really does have an infection, oh and one more thing. Lots of love from her idiot85.

I'm an FP doc who did OB until last year. No aspirin at all during pregnancy and no Advil/Aleve/Motrin in the third trimester. Other than that the over the counter meds are pretty safe. I let my patients take Tylenol cold and use Adrian nasal spray (just a bit... Excessive use causes other nasal problems). Even small amounts of pseudoehedrine are ok but I try to get my patients through without it. I agree with the netipot saline rinses and if you're in a dry climate a humidifier. Any fever or pus coming out of the nose or coughing up and she needs an antibiotic.

There are these cakes that you put in the shower and they release beneficial vapors that help. I am also a huge Vapo-rub fan. Also use a vaporizer/humidifier. Sleeping semi-propped to promote drainage helps (pillows or sleeping in a recliner).

I took generic Sudafed and it was safe/ok'd by my OB. Vicks Vapor rub on the soles of her feet with socks at night will also help. Honey and cinnamon plain, and hot water with lemon also help. Hope she feels better, being pregnant and having a cold/sinus infection is NOT fun!

I knew she needed antibiotics- she was too chesty for it to be anything else- my Dad's prescribed antibiotics so she'll be on the mend soon.
She's already taking paracetamol to help with fever and pain.
I know I feel so sorry for her- she looks terrible! My son's off nursery today too, he's succumbed to it! My stepMIL is taking care of the patients.
So far my daughter and I are fine, touch wood!!
I'm thinking about wearing a mask tonight
I don't know what Adrian nasal spray is- tylenol is a paracetamol based drug right? We don't use that brand here but she as Beechams Cold and Flu and I think it's he same kind of stuff
A dry climate? I wish! I'm going to give that rinse a go though, like I said she suffers with her sinuses at the best of times so I'll take your advice.
I'll add some cinnamon tonight, the soles of her feet? I've never heard that one! I'll try though, she barely slept last night but my Dad's got a linctus for her so it should help her throat.
It came on Saturday night with a sore throat and she hasn't looked back!! It's in full swing now...

Turns out cinnamon mixed with phlegm-y chesty cough equalled- puking wife haha she's asleep now anyway- totally threw up a few times earlier, freaked me out but then she was OK, ate some toast, drank water and is now sleeping in a sweaty snotty state. Snotty son is also sleeping- with the help of Calpol.
My daughter is asleep, with a surgical mask and hand sanitiser- I wish I was joking!! She did suggest a tent but I said it was a bit extreme, then suggested my wife and son sleep outside in the tent- she saw it in TV apparently.
