Well, I know I'm not. I learned this as a kid from an older neighbor girl and I've read about other people doing it. But I thought it would be a funny conversation to what weird food things you enjoy. And the sandwich thread got me thinking about my grandfather-in-law who used to butter his hard boiled eggs.

Something my Chinese heritage has taught me is to be resourceful. If can mix any leftovers with rice or eggs...even if it sounds like a horrible combination (sometimes it is). But the one thing that I like that seem to make other people gag is uncooked Ramen noodles. Like the stuff in the package with the little seasoning packet. I just eat the raw noodles and sprinkle some seasoning on it. Now that I'm dieting and exercising I don't do it, but it will always be something I know I can do if there absolutely nothing in the house.

I don't think we eat anything too weird. Growing up we ate a lot of peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Is that strange?

And although I don't eat uncooked Ramen, I do occasionally like to munch on a strand of uncooked spaghetti (if I'm making it).

And my DD is trying to convince everyone that is a brilliant idea to put cinnamon in scrambled eggs. I just can't get on board with that one.

My mother is a child of the depression; she was always threatening to put whatever we didn't eat into an omelet and feed it to us for breakfast.

My parents were also big on organ meats cow's tongue, liver, bleh. We kids ate a lot of cereal...

My father fancied himself a gourmet chef; he was a pretty good cook, but some of his projects The most memorable was the roast suckling pig. You know how you always see them presented with an apple in their mouth? Well, you can't cook it with the apple, or it would turn to mush, so you put a block of wood in it's mouth. Our oven was not big enough for the pig, so my father had to cook it sitting up in the oven. We kids decided to check it out--imagine opening the oven door and seeing a pig sitting up in the oven glaring at you with its mouth open! We ran out of the house screaming

TCD - my DD loves uncooked ramen noodles, but she just eats the broken pieces at the bottom of the package.

I don't know that we eat anything weird now, but when we were kids, we used to love fluffer-nutter sandwiches.

I know kids at school who will eat uncooked Ramen noodles...

Me, I don't think there's anything to weird that I eat now or ate growing up.

We at a lot of Jewish food that to my small town, all christian, friends seemed weird... but had I lived in a town with a bigger Jewish community would've been quite normal.

As a kid it was a real treat to eat Banana Toast sandwiches with my grandfather! It is exactly what it sounds like - bananas sliced onto toast. To this day it is a comfort food for me

I'm not sure raw ramen is a Chinese thing. Hahaha! But stuff in eggs is. Nothing says breakfast to a teenager like some random seafood and vegetables in eggs. Blech. Something I do though that my mom does (don't know if this is an Asian thing or my crazy mom thing) is just eating random stuff. If it's there...eat it. That's why I rarely complain that there isn't anything to eat. Best story about my mom and that is her "3 P's of Breakfast." One day my brother and SIL were at my parents' house in the morning and my mom prepared the 3 p's for them....pork chops, portobello mushrooms, and popcorn.

Oh..and any leftover can be combined with Chinese chili oil. It's great on pizza.

I have eaten uncooked ramen noodles. But without the spice packet, though. I find the spice packets are too salty.

I have always eaten my McDonald's French fries dipped in my chocolate shake. My family always thought that was weird.

Now my youngest DD eats

uncooked ramen noodles. When she was little she used to request ketchup sandwiches.

My older DD always ate mayo sandwiches.

Oh, I also like homemade French fries with mayo.

Must add, my H grew up eating bacon grease sandwiches!

I don't do anything too strange other than fries in my ice cream... but my dd7 likes to eat cheese and butter sandwiches, she puts a piece of cheese, slathers butter on it,a nd throws another piece of cheese on top, no bread in sight

I'm kinda partial to grape jelly on grilled cheese myself. One of my XBILs introduced me to it years ago.

Other than that, nothing to weird. One of my sisters however...

When she was pregnant with her oldest, she ate peanut butter with cheese, ketchup, lettuce and pickle sandwiches. At first she could say it was craving but that didn't hold up after my nephew was born and she was still eating them.

Butter and brown sugar sandwiches. My Mom sent us to school with those in our lunches when there wasn't anything else in the house. I think I would gag on it today, but loved them as a kid. I still put butter and brown sugar on french toast, and so does my youngest DD.

I put salsa on my salads instead of dressing. Some people think it is "weird" and others say, that is a great idea, I may try it!

When there is no salsa, sometimes I put just a tiny amount of ketchup on the salad. Now people really think that is weird, but it is just a stronger, distinct "dressing" and low in calories (at least in the amounts I use). If you love ketchup, which I obviously do, it is good on just about anything except sweets and desserts.

Salsa on salads is not strange, to me. I love a salad with salsa, sour cream, and guac- or any one of those.
