In my spare time, I'm a folk musician - don't worry, I still have my day job. Since I'm a songwriter, I tend to write about whatever is going on in my life. Can you see where this is going?
I wrote a song about my history with the Princess, called Blind Stupid Love. It made her seem quite ridiculous. A friend had challenged me to write a song with the word "barnacle" in it, so the chorus said how she had "lips like a barnacle's arse, and skin like a lobster's taint".
I played this at an open stage last night, and recorded it as well. I always put these recordings up on an audio sharing site so that my family can hear what I'm up to. This site has a feature that it can post to facebook what you've listened to. My brother had just turned this feature on.
Luckily, I just happened to be on facebook minutes after it announced that he had listened to this, and gave a link for others to do the same. Normally, I would be happy for the exposure, but I'm still trying to keep the separation/divorce friendly, and the Princess is still facebook friends with all my family.
Texted my brother to let him know the situation. He deleted it in seconds.
I think we dodged that bullet. It's probably best if the Princess doesn't hear the song that ridicules her - at least not until we're divorced!

Yeah, probably a good idea to wait until after the divorce. I'm waiting for the divorce to be final so I can post this song on Facebook:

Who me?
Hee, hee. Just another gem I have SI to thank for..
Maybe you'll be tempted to give us the link to your songs one day Pass? I've seen you mention your music quite a few times, and I would love to hear it some time! I must say I've never heard of a song that spoke of lips like a barnacle's arse and skin like a lobster's taint, and I'd love to broaden my musical horizons

Thank you for the snicker, "barnical lips", I love it!
I started writing poems again and feel the same way about posting them anywhere. FB was ruined for me by Perv and OW, but I know what you mean about waiting.
I do some composing too, but it's piano based...I love folk music and playing it, as well!
Music's also a terrific outlet, isn't it?
I am a church musician and one of the hymns I like the tune of is about guilt. At the beginning of being abandoned by Perv, I put it on FB as a poem, but I removed it pretty quickly, too. It talked about guilt and a man who walks alone and was quite fitting.
Yep, thank you for the chuckle, Pass, I'll think of your song and barnicles when sponge bob comes on again, too!

I was once challenged by a relative to write a poem with the word "dingle berries", as the things that get stuck in her dog's fur after being in the woods!
So I'll add that to your list of challenge words.

I'll put it up on an anonymous account on soundcloud, and then post it here. Gotta admit, I'm pretty proud of this song!
