Anyone have tips for finding characters? I must have a pic with Tinkerbell.

Me!! Downtown Disney is my favorite place... I'll bring my kid w/ me if it's kid friendly.
As for character tips... I used to know where to see most of them, but since they closed down Mickey's Toon Town I'm at a loss.
Hopeful more seasoned Disneyphile will be along soon.

The whole trip is kid friendly for me. They may be with me at that moment or they may be off doing something with Xena or Belle. So we can absolutely plan for kid friendly

Well, as school will be back in session at that point... it's gonna be better for us on Sat or Sun (17th or 18th)...
I find early morning, like around 9am best for getting there... it makes parking easier.
Do you like to bowl? They have a really cool retro bowling alley there - the kids love it.
If not, it's cool just to walk around and window shop and eat treats.
Are the girls into Legos at all? They have a cool Lego shop... and World of Disney is good for souvenirs.

you can find tink and the fairies at her magical nook. its just over the bridge into Adventureland if you were coming from the crystal palace but before Swiss Family treehouse.
They have alot of phone apps now that you can use while there to help you find characters, wait times and dining.
Most of the characters have their own spots just for meeting them..ie: Ariels Grotto or Storytime with Belle.
Check out disneys website esp. the moms panel, allears.net for tips and Qs.
We do alot of character dining so we dont have to wait inline.For princess pics/dining Akerhaus in epcot or Cindys royal table in Magic Kingdom.

I've only been once. Do they really have a princess making place like on Big Bang Theory? If they do I am so sad I missed it.

Have a wonderful time CD!!!! I cancelled our August trip to get a puppy (we all chose puppy) but we'll be taking the kids as a surprise later in the year when puppy is old enough to go stay with my sister
