Like many on this board, I sometimes lament being on my own all the time. This time, I'm going to threadjack my own brain and list some of the reasons why living alone is the BOMB. Here goes:
1. I control the fucking remote. Any remote.
2. I can cook whatever I want and I don't have to share.
3. Chores can wait as long as I can stand it. (which isn't very long, but that's not the point
)
4. I don't have to close the bathroom door.
5. Okay, I went there so I'll go further. I can fart without fear.
6. No surprises when you take the laundry out of the dryer. Like chapstick, gum, ink. Cause I check MY pockets.
7. No garbage left in my car. The gas gauge in my car is always the same as when I parked it. (damn kids)
8. I get to have the whole couch to myself.
9. The mail is always for me. (that isn't always fun, but I like getting mail - comes from being stationed overseas so long ago and always wishing for more mail from home)
10. Total control over the grocery bill. Seriously, my kids were bottomless pits. Three kids all in sports for all their school years was frigging expensive.
Anyone else care to add?

Yours are all really good and I'd need some time to make my own list, but the first thing that came to mind is:

10. Total control over the grocery bill.
I'm still waiting for this day to arrive. As nice as it will be for my grocery bill to shrink, what I'm really looking forward to is having control over the groceries I buy. Ya know, reaching into the fridge, pantry or freezer and actually still finding the food I put in there when I got home from the store.

Not having to wear pants
No one cares or knows if I don't do the dishes until just before bed, or *gasp* tomorrow.
I can sort the silver wear in the dishwasher so that it's easier to empty (stupid, but it annoys me so much when other people mix the forks spoons and knives).
Big bed. Lots of space. Lots of pillows. All for me!!
Long hot showers.
No junk food but my junk food.
No messes but my messes.
But dang, I hate having to clean up dead bugs.

I can't even begin to imagine how awful it would be to share my home!!!
I have gotten so used to living alone. It would drive me crazy to share my house!
I can eat when I want to. I can have cereal for dinner and leftovers from dinner for breakfast, and no one (especially a nasty mother-in-law) will have an opinion about it.
I can stay up as late as I want to without worrying about keeping someone else awake. And I can sleep as late as I want. All that matters is MY schedule.
I can decorate the way I want to.
I don't have to get anyone a beer or a glass of water or anything else.
I don't have to listen to anyone snore.
I don't have to share a bathroom or a closet. I hated sharing the bathroom and the closet.
I can park my car in the garage because it isn't full of climbing equipment and mountain bikes.
I can watch all kinds of trashy and stupid TV shows.
I can spend my money the way I want to spend it.
I can wear what I want to wear. Or, more likely, not wear what someone thinks I should be wearing or wants me to wear. No more uncomfortable lingerie.
Living alone is the best. I LOVE IT!!!
And that's saying a lot. I'm proud of myself. Because I married straight out of high school and was not alone my entire adult life, until I was 48 years old. But, I took to it like a duck takes to water.

1. I can sleep diagonally across my bed.
2. Thermostat. All. Mine.
3. I don't have to explain to anyone why I am making cupcakes at 1:30 AM.
4. I don't have to share the newspaper.
5. No sharing of closets, drawers, bathroom, NOTHING.
6. Listen to whatever kind of music I want without commentary.
7. Organization. Today, tomorrow, always.
8. No stomach clenching and thinking "oh shit" when I pull into the garage.
9. Popcorn and white wine for dinner.
10. Getting a mani/pedi and not having to take anyone with me.

Well I don't exactly live alone since I have a cat which means I can't sleep in and have hairballs and kitty litter to clean up after. But all in all its easier than a roommate or boyfriend or husband.
- i can arrange things the way I want to
- no tv blaring
- no snoring
- no sound of his blender making smoothies at 6am
- no trying to make someone else feel comfortable (I am a well trained woman brought up to serve others)
- i can eat what and when I want
Can't imagine living with someone ever again! This cat is more than enough space-sharing for me!

There is so much I love about living alone (well, alone with bananas), I don't even know that I can list it all!
One awesome thing - my room is MINE. I have Christmas lights up year-round, I tiedyed my duvet cover, half the bed is always full of books, my journal and my tablet, there is no TV in there, I can eat ice cream in bed and nobody can tell me no.

1. I can walk buck-assed naked from the bedroom to the laundry room without being self-conscience.
2. I can read whatever I want for however long I want. No having to fix food for someone else or do something for them.
3. No more having to clean the bathroom mirror of the "floss spots".
4. I don't have to be home by a certain time so I'm home waiting for him/the kids. My time is MY TIME.
5. Less laundry and less dirty dishes.

When the alarm goes off in the morning, not having to leave the bedroom until I want, because no one else is trying to sleep still.

Slight t/j
This is done so that they clean better. When like utensils mingle or "spoon"
they don't come out as clean.
End t/j
I am amazed at what I can fix by myself now. With no one peeking over my shoulder telling me how to do it. Especially someone with zero mechanical inclination!

1)I can talk on the phone to my young adult kids without having to share the conversation with XWH
2)I can have conversations on the phone with anyone without XWH standing in the same room, following me to the next room, or trying to listen from the upstairs bedroom/porch … X was always listening in trying to pick up any tid bit of information he could get about anything
3)I can relax without having to be followed around the house with him looking for attention
4)There is no stress in my home
5)I can actually have people over to my home where they feel comfortable and not uneasy because of XWH
6)There is no anxiety of making sure meals, laundry, and everyone elses schedules are being met
7)If the doorbell or the phone rings … I don't have to answer either one of them unless I want to
8)I can run a fan for the sheer pleasure to cool the room off instead of trying to drown out noise from others.
9)I pay the bills on time
10)I have great credit again
11)I can leave important papers etc sitting on my desk without having to worry about them
12)I can just simply be free to be me! And I am really liking/loving me …

It has taken me a while to get here - but I'm ready to play:
- I can listen to music I like, (good one!)
- I don't have to be quiet because X is recording his music, (same rift over and over and over at all hours of the day...)
- I can eat fruit salad, and salad 24/7 in the summer, in peace.
- I can watch or read sci-fi and fantasy without hearing that I am wasting my time.
- I can paint at 3am without bothering anyone.
- Quiet in the mornings!
- I don't have to walk on eggshells cause someone else is in a bad mood!
- I can take a long bath without a knock on the door.
- I don't have to make sure X has what he needs before I go anywhere.
- If I leave leftovers in the fridge, I have leftovers in the fridge.
- Oh, I can buy a bottle of vodka, forget about it for 2 months, and lo and behold - I still a bottle of vodka!

When like utensils mingle or "spoon" they don't come out as clean.
I know, I arrange them very carefully so that they're all facing different directions.
It really only works if I'm the only one who touches my dishwasher.

Not having to accommodate others food preferences.
Putting food in the fridge/cabinet and it still being there when I want it.
Not having to clean up anyone else's mess.
Only having to pay for enough food to feed me.
I can keep the house as hot as I like.
Being able to watch all the crap tv I like without embarrassment.
Not having to put anyone else's dishes in the dishwasher (even though it's empty)
I am going to miss all of these when I move in with SO. Especially the food related ones... maybe we should have his and hers refrigerators? That's a things right?
