I need a letter of recommendation for graduate school and i asked my supervisor... He askjed me to write it and he'd tweak it if necessary... The catch is i'm not planning on staying with the company and my degree is not in the field im currently working in..

Tricky. If he is just going to sign off on what you write, I would be tempted to do it. Focusing on the things that would make you a good match for the program. Good initiative, reliable, goal oriented, blah blah blah.
But if your boss doesn't know what youre going to school for that could be a sticky situation. Especially with the economy the way it is. Employers seem to let people go for minor things.
Is there someone else like someone you work with outside your company, a customer, or another company that works with you on a regular basis that could do it?

He and i had a few conversations in the last few weeks my graduation... I told him i wanted to go to fraduate school and he asked in what? I said health mgmt and he said ' oh you want to take my job?' I said oh no u r my mentor, and he said oh thx... Currently i work in managed care (workers comp).. So i dont see how any of my skills would be transferrable....
The LOR focused on my job performance...i retrieved most of the info from my job performance
