Well we got the information for next year's health insurance through work.
Hasn't changed that much from last year :)
I pay $8 more per pay period (bi-monthly) for a total of $56 for an individual policy.
Deductible is 2k, but the company pays the second thousand, so I only have to pay 1k. After that, everything is covered 100%, aside from co-pays. My out of pocket is a maximum of 1k/year plus co-pays. For $56/pay period. That's awesome, especially since I'm looking at a hip replacement next year.
Plus they changed the short term disability to a better plan that is cheaper than the old one. Waiting period is only 6 months now instead of 12- so I could have my surgery any time after June and be covered :)
I am really thankful that I work for a good company whose owners really work hard to get us the best possibly coverage at the best price. I know it's a lot of work, and a lot of money they're paying. But it really makes a difference for people to know that their out of pocket is capped at 1k no matter what happens.
I actually went and thanked two of the owners yesterday LOL. Told them that I realize it's great coverage compared to what some people have, and at a great price to the employee. That I know it's a lot of work and money to get us that, and that I appreciate that they do it. They both seemed shocked that I thanked them
but genuinely happy to hear some appreciation.
They deserve it.
