At bedtime tonight, DD asked me if I thought I'd get re-married. I said that I didn't know, but it might happen in the future if I met the right person. She then asked if I would marry dad again. I said no,that dad didn't treat me well, broke promises and really hurt my feelings. I said that if I got re-married I would want someone kind, honest, treated me well, etc.
She then said, I really hope you find someone like that, mommy.
I almost teared up. We always have to walk that fine line of being truthful, but not badmouthing the other parent. I'm really hoping that I didn't badmouth him, but I couldn't not tell her why I wouldn't marry him again. I always tell her that he loves her though and just made bad choices in his marriage.

You handled it well. And yes, so stinkin' sweet!
My boys have asked me on several occasions if they can DJ my next wedding. I think that may be the 10 and 13-year-old equivalent of this conversation.
Divorced the cheater and living my best life now.
The best thing about hitting rock bottom is that everything after that looks fucking fabulous.
