This year started off so very, very horribly with d-day and the giant shit sandwich that comes with it all. Divorce, stress, and what is turning into recovery in my new beginning have brought me to this place not even 6 months later. I was honestly worried for the longest time that my work performance was slipping. My head and heart just weren't in it for a while, and I still struggle some days. So, when I got the call from my director yesterday, I certainly didn't expect what he would say.

I can now say I'm a Senior Operations Manager for a business unit of a company I know everyone here has heard of. We are the focus of said company and we're growing at an exponential rate. This is such an incredible opportunity, and even with as tough as it will be to adjust to for a bit, my resume just became gold overnight. I am so incredibly excited. It's insane.

To think, broken and half-dead me was still good enough to stand out to this degree. I hope this is a sign of good things to kick off the second half of 2014. I'm not even embarrassed to say your man right here may have let out a "squee" in my car on the way home after hearing.

Anyway, wanted to pass some of my positive mood along to you all!

Congratulations!

No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

Thanks everyone!

The only kinda "sad" part was my first reaction upon getting the news was to tell someone, and that someone had been my ex for so long. Anyway, my family knows, and once the "official" announcement is made I may not be able to keep my mouth shut for a while. My success is just another loss for my ex. This is about me and for me. Ah, feels great.

So, I may not post here as much as I did for a while, but it'll be great to take on some new challenges, break out of what was my norm for so long, and drive forth change and progress. Hell, even a month ago I would've probably crumbled under the new pressure. Now - bring it!
