I received an email last night from one of the insurance companies I've been trying to get into. She asked my availability for phone interviews for this week. I responded to her this morning and she scheduled the interview for today. In fact, I just got off the phone with her.
She's very nice, asked a lot of questions. I tried not to stammer my way through it
I think I did all right. She told me she'll be in touch with next steps.
We'll see what happens.

Thank you! I applied for it a month ago. It feels like 'take your time. Now rush, rush, rush.'
I emailed my friend who passed on my resume to HR. She told me she's on the interview panel and that she'll be interviewing me.
The recruiter I spoke to said that there will be two interview (of I'm selected) panels of 8 to 9 people broken up into two separate interviews.
Those types of interviews are nerve wracking. Ugh!

You're going to be awesome. Just try and calm yourself before the interview.
You are EXTREMELY well spoken and intelligent and funny (in a great way - not obnoxious like me!)
You've got this, love. Keep us posted!

Thank you!
I just got off the phone with my mom and told her all about it. She said "I'm not telling anyone because I don't want to jinx it."
Jrazz, Thank you for the compliment. You're hilarious, not obnoxious.
Oh! Another thing! I talked to my friend last night at my son's baseball game (they won their playoffs and are now going the championship game Thursday) because I wanted an "inside scoop" about the travel that is involved. That part makes me nervous because of my "situation." She said that it's mandatory to travel once a year but I could schedule it where I fly in and out on the same day. She's done that a number of times. So that puts my mind at ease a bit. Now to get over my horrible fear of flying

Oh SD you got this sister.
Just be your awesome self.
This whole panel thing is typical these days.
Go in be confident be yourself and be honest. If you are asked to give a anecdotal story of a time you handled confrontation, problem solved, etc and you need to think a minute take that minute. Take notes ask questions be slightly self deprecating. I use the joke that I have to take notes cause I'm old. But shows interest and later when the adrenaline isn't pumping you can review what you wrote and heard
you can do this !!!

I don't know what Ativan is. I hate flying! I had a bad experience once and that was all it took. Now I cry at take off and landing. I haven't been on a plane since Sept 2000.
Thanks TN! When I was still working I interviewed with a different insurance company. That interview had three people - the manager and two employees. I've never had one like this before. I anyways take notes and a keep a list of questions in my folder. I also bring the job posting so I have something to reference if I think of another question on the fly.

Ativan is miracle medicine that makes flying fun.
Seriously it's a benzodiazepine, that is a great antianxiety medication. It saved my life, and my H's life (because I took it) more than once.
