So..... most of you know...I'm a runner. And, anyone who runs.....knows exactly where this post is going! Runners experience something known as the "trots." Its an odd phenomenon where your stomach gets upset causing you diarrhea either before, during, or after a run. Typically, I only have this problem before races because I get nervous and when I drink coffee.
Yesterday, I ran for the 1st time in over a week and did a 10k sprint workout on the treadmill. I felt good. So, this morning, I decided to get up early and hit the pavement for another 7-miler! I didn't have coffee this morning.....no race. I just sipped a little water and out the door I went!!! I get about 2 miles in....and I felt the churning begin....and wrote it off as just getting the old stomach moving since I usually have the opposite problem. But, 2 miles from home (about 5.5 in) I realized that it was a very possible scenario that I would not make it home before I exploded......
CRAP! Quite possibly.....
So....long story short....I made it home.....BARELY.... I had to literally STOP in my tracks 2 or three times to clamp the bay doors shut from auto-evacuation mode. That last block to my house was excruciating....I've never been more happy to see the porcelain goddess in my life....although I doubt she reciprocated those feelings of relief....
It was horrible. I think I will run in fear the next few times I leave the house for a run. I do not wish to relive that experience.....

Another reason why if I took up running I'd want to be the one crossing the finish line first. This way I wouldn't care what happens behind me.
Unless it's my own behind.
Oh my.

LOL -- I do remember a marathon runner that had happened to but I thought it was a woman. Heck, there was probably a woman who had this happen to them too. I think, however, I'll pass on watching the video. My gag reflex has gotten bad over the years.
I'm just glad you made it home in time.
When I read the title of your post it reminded me of a time when I was on a long, deserted highway coming home from a BBQ. I found out my tummy was intolerant to large quantities of raw onions. I thought I was able to make it home......
Hurray for leather seats.

I know someone who is a long time runner and over 70 years old. She runs in NYC and once got arrested by the police for running behind a building in the early morning to take care of business. I felt so bad for her! She's a sweet woman. I think it was for public indecent exposure but she was discreet. Poor lady, she was in distress and far from home.

One of my co-workers ran Cross Country, in high school. She never had this problem, but there were times she would pee, while running. One time, in particular, she was on her period and the white part of her shorts turned pink mid-race
