I know adults can get sick from being out in the heat for too long, but what does it look like in kids?
DD loves being outside and I usually have to fight her to come in the house..
yesterday she was outside all afternoon and spent most of the time in a kiddie pool w a friend. I made sure she was wearing sunscreen and drank enough all day.
Today she went out for a bit but wanted to come inside...she laid on the couch and watched a movie and asked to go to sleep at 5:30. I noticed she was very warm so took her temp and it was 10-1.4..she usually runs around 97-98.
She drank a lot today as well but was not at all interested in eating.

Ear infection maybe? I know my kids get them in the summer when they spend a lot of time at the pool.

Being outdoors and playing in a pool is exhausting. She may just be worn out. I wouldn't worry too much unless she doesn't bounce back tomorrow.

I get sun sick... I feel lightheaded, very hot, very nauseas, and just very very tired.
Those are all symptoms of flu or other issues too.
I would guess being in the pool in the sun all day would lead to exhaustion. It could be sunsick or maybe a flu coming on?

Hard to tell if it's the sun or something else. I know being outside drains my kiddos, but fever means she's fighting something. If she still feels funky in the a.m. I would call her doctor. Hope she feels better soon

Swimmers ear I'm betting. I used to get it twice a summer at least. Not nearly as painful as a normal ear infection. But fevers and malaise. Call the ped today.
Me: FBSHim: FWSKids: 23 & 27 Married for 32 years now, was 16 at the time.D-Day Sept 26 2008R'd in about 2 years. Old Vet now.
