I'm being redirected whenever I use chrome on an Android phone. Any tips?

It's directing me to a site that's offering free Amazon gift cards.

Unfortunately there is not much we can do about the ads because we subscribe to an advertising network that controls the banner placement. The best solution we can recommend is to use another device to connect to SurvivingInfidelity.com or upgrade your profile so you can browse using SImplicity which is an advertisement free zone and much more phone-friendly.

Maybe I don't understand this technology, wouldn't be the first time. This isn't a banner, or an ad at the bottom or top, it completely redirected me to another page that I am unable to close.

Is that my device?

I'll try simplicity.

I'm having this same issue with my Android phone. Sometimes it opens as a new tab and others it takes me to the spam page directly from SI where I have to completely close the tab and go back to SI as the site won't let me go back. The page I'm taken to is obviously a scam meant to look like you've won an Amazon gift card or some crap.

Yes. That's What I'm seeing. Only on my android phone, not on my tablet or computer.

Odd.

Yes, it IS still ads. Either a spammer has bought the ad space, or has hacked an ad and taken it over. It might be targeted to a specific device and browser. But it's still happening because an ad was launched.

I have the same garbage that hits me on my iPad with a game I play that has ads in it, and it comes up in the Safari browser. The ads are actually in the game, not the browser, but it drops out of the game, brings up the browser, and then brings up the spam page. Fortunately, I can kill it on my iPad by just closing that tab in the browser.

There should be a special circle of hell for these malvertisers and other idiots who do this kind of garbage.

Overall, other than running the ad-free version, trying a different system or browser (which may or may not stop it), or running some of the security software that is supposed to block that kind of thing (which again, may or may not work), there isn't much else you can do.

@MangledHeart - you can let the advertising network know this is happening. They usually don't like it any more than you do. If someone has hacked them, they'll want to try and find it and fix it. If it's a badly behaved advertiser, they may or may not do something about it, but if enough people complain that they are afraid of losing business, they are more likely to put a stop to it.

Yes. Same thing.

I'll just use a different browser. It isn't happening on opera.

I don’t know if this is related but I have noticed that some of my banner ads are in Thai.

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one. It wouldn't be so bad if the back button would take you back to SI page. Same as others, I have to close the "Amazon" tab and open SI again. GRRR!

Watching and gathering, just in case...

I just reported this to some stopbadware.com. Don't think it will help a lot.

It's odd that this is ONLY on my phone which is running the latest version of Android. Not on !y computer, or either (older) tablet.

You might have an app that's causing this... I have android and don't have this happen..

Have you fried Firefox Focus? It's a minimalized version of Firefox.. but it will not save any logins or anything.. meant for true private browsing.. also no trackers can stick either.
